Ripper Street is ending after its fifth series... probably.
The cast told Digital Spy that the moody thriller series is "over" after two more series.
Matthew Macfadyen (Reid), Jerome Flynn (Drake), MyAnna Buring (Long Susan) and Adam Rothenberg (Jackson) revealed that they originally expected the third series to be the show's last.
Amazon later granted Ripper Street a double renewal, ordering a fourth and fifth series back in May 2015.
"I think we're supposed to be mysterious about it," said Rothenberg. "It's over - it's definitely done."
...that's unless there's another of those surprise revivals, of course, with Amazon previously saving the show from the axe in 2014.

Either way, the good news is that Ripper Street series four will be available exclusively for Prime Members in the UK from next Friday (January 15).
