Ripper Street is back - and it's as dark, macabre and brilliant as ever.
The cast told Digital Spy that a "frightening, gruesome threat" will rear its head in the fourth series - and we're not just talking the introduction of council tax to Whitechapel.
"There's a serial killer who's just ripping people to bits," revealed Matthew Macfadyen, who returns as Det. Insp. Edmund Reid.
Reid retired for a quiet life by the seaside at the end of the last series. But surely the lure of Whitechapel - and his beloved hat - will prove too strong?
Amazon has already ordered a fifth series of Ripper Street, too - though the cast have confirmed that will be the show's final outing... barring another last-minute revival.
Ripper Street series four will be available exclusively for Prime Members in the UK from January 15.
