The Eurovision Song Contest is over for another year, with the 71st edition of the long-running event set to head to Bulgaria after Dara triumphed with catchy dance song 'Bangaranga'.

It wasn't a brilliant night (again) for the UK, however, as Look Mum No Computer placed dead last after accruing only a single point - courtesy of the Jury Vote - for barmy synth track 'Eins, Zwei, Drei'.

Continuing the trend of disappointment for the UK, the BBC's live broadcast of the event had the lowest viewership for 15 years, with the reported figure of 5.2 million viewers being 1.49 million lower than last year (via Eurovoix).

The two semi-finals, which aired on Tuesday (12 May) and Thursday (14 May), were reportedly watched by an average of 1.3 million and 1.2 million respectively. These figures only pertain to the live broadcast, and don't include numbers from streaming.

It was another disappointing evening for the UK, whose solitary point came courtesy of Ukraine's jury. In the Televote, which is done by the audience, the UK drew a complete blank once again.

Since 2000, the country has only finished in the top 10 three times (2002, 2009 and 2022), while finishing in last place a further five times (2003, 2008, 2010, 2019 and 2021) in addition to this year. Furthermore, in 2003 and 2021 they got nul points.

Sam Battle, the artist who works under the stage name of Look Mum No Computer, reflected on the disappointing result via Threads, saying: "Bulgaria honestly [a] deserved winner!"

"Met a lot of amazing folk. The most important thing is we all tried our hardest. Regardless of what is against us. Whatever it may be. Gotta keep trying your hardest regardless of the foooookennnn outcome!!! #eurovision," he added.

Despite the result, we at Digital Spy praised the act for embracing the theatricality of Eurovision, noting: "With his ridiculous lyrics, oddball dancers and strange dance moves, it was certainly eye-catching.

"Sam has given it his all. He is fully committed to the fun and silliness of Eurovision. He hasn’t taken himself too seriously. For all of that, he should be commended."
