Death in Paradise fans are in for an extra special treat as the BBC has shared an exclusive clip of the final episode ahead of its debut. The cosy crime drama took a brief hiatus last week when its season finale was pushed back one week to make room for the Comic Relief: Funny for Money variety show. This means fans have had to sit tight and wait to see how the shock arrival of Mervin's niece Eloise, played by Avah Cotterell, will affect the detective inspector.
Those keen to know how this new familial development is shaping up can get a steer from the teaser, which hints at a bumpy ride for Mervin (Don Gilet).
"No, I am not good," the detective inspector tells DS Naomi Thomas (Shantol Jackson) in the teaser before explaining the surprising new extension of his family tree. Naomi acknowledges the situation has "touched a nerve" for Mervin, who had only just cut Solomon out of his life, having realised that he needed space from his shifty and now-incarcerated brother.

However, despite giving Eloise the boot, the preview at the end of the previous episode already revealed that she has no intentions of going anywhere - which could turn out to be one of the best decisions Death in Paradise has made regarding Mervin's personal life.
Death in Paradise's last episode will follow Beyond Paradise's season four premiere. The spin-off's new season throws a surprising development at another detective in the Paraverse with Kris Marshall's DI Humphrey Goodman being told that he must lose one of his team in the enforced downsizing of the Shipton Abbott police station.

More difficult developments are also on the way, with Marshall recently hinting at Martha (Sally Bretton) and Humphrey's stress as they move out of the boat home and into a house.
"Humphrey loves his boat," said Marshall during an exclusive interview with Digital Spy. "He loves the poetry of living on a boat, but the reality of living on a boat is quite different, I think. So he's lost a large part of what he loves."
He continued: "Obviously they've got to find somewhere else to live and so that brings with it its own challenges. Of course, Humphrey is a kind of head-in-the-clouds kind of guy, so he's not the most pragmatic of people. And so really, it's kind of left to Martha to sort things out.
"There are challenges with that because obviously finances are an issue, but they're so good together. They dovetail so well together that they work it out, and it's a lovely little journey they go on."
Death in Paradise's season 15 finale airs Friday 27 March at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Beyond Paradise and Return to Paradise also air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
