Fortitude creator Simon Donald has confirmed that the majority of the show's cast will be back for the second series.
Sky Atlantic announced the Arctic drama's renewal earlier this week, with Donald telling Radio Times that "most" of the surviving characters will return.
"Most of the people who are left standing are coming back and will be supplemented by some people from Fortitude that we haven't met yet, and a couple of in-comers," he confirmed.
Series two will delve deeper into the mysteries of Fortitude, Donald added, explaining that the first series finale was not intended to resolve all of the show's mysteries.
"We haven't yet understood completely the whole story of what has happened," he said. "There is another ingredient we've already seen which is going to feature in the second series."
Fortitude will return with ten new episodes in 2016.
