Gavin & Stacey star Rob Brydon has addressed a devastating theory about Uncle Bryn.
The hit sitcom will return with a 2024 festive special on Christmas Day after five years off screen, marking the show's final-ever episode.
Previously teasing what fans can expect from the anticipated special, James Corden told The Mirror: "What we were editing today was a very moving and emotional scene at Bryn’s funeral. I’m joking, I promise. Or am I?"
While seemingly in jest, Corden's comments have left some fans concerned about the beloved character's fate – and Brydon has done little to ease those concerns.

During a recent appearance on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Virgin Radio, Brydon was asked how far into the episode Bryn dies.

"There's the explosion, first of all, obviously, and for a while, it's touch and go," he laughed.
"Well, has Bryn survived? There was a rumour about Bryn dying... Well, I can neither confirm nor deny it."
Evans then suggested that co-creators James Corden and Ruth Jones could have "made it happen in the edit" without his knowledge, to which Brydon responded: "That would be a heck of an edit!"

Meanwhile, Jones recently suggested that the special might be slightly different to what fans are expecting.
"I keep telling people this finale might not be what you are expecting," she told Big Issue . "And I guarantee we will definitely not be coming back."
Corden also weighed in, saying: "What people are going to see on Christmas Day is the culmination of a 20-year love story, which hopefully shows, if nothing else, that love is complicated and messy and for everyone."
Gavin & Stacey series 1-3 are available to stream on BBC iPlayer. The Gavin & Stacey 2024 Christmas special will air at 9pm on Christmas Day on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
