Beyond Paradise star Kris Marshall has shared an exciting show update, revealing they have already filmed a key episode.

The Death in Paradise spin-off is due to return soon for a 2024 Christmas special, though the actor – who plays DI Humphrey Goodman – has now shared that not only is the upcoming third season in the can, but next year's Christmas special is too.

"We've actually just finished filming Christmas 2025," he told The Chris Evans Breakfast Show. "So I'm actually one Christmas ahead. [We finished] literally last week, last Friday."

Asked whether he has filmed season 3, Marshall added: "Filmed that as well… I may have dropped a spoiler that I'm not supposed to."

He then joked: "There are murders in series three. There's another spoiler!"

Beyond Paradise's second season wrapped up back in April, with the third and the 2024 Christmas special confirmed shortly afterwards.

"The response to series two has been fantastic," executive producer Tim Key said at the time. "So much love goes into the making of the show, and we’re delighted that the audience have enjoyed it so much.

"We can’t wait to get back to Shipton Abbott for another Christmas special and series to continue the story and learn more about our characters and the town they live in – I can promise that we’ll be making the viewers laugh, cry, laugh a bit more and then baffling them with a series of ingenious puzzles. There will also be a duck."

Back in August, some of season 3's cases were teased, including a body in a river, a "baffling" chocolate box poisoning, a "historic farming feud" as well as a "spiking incident".

The episodes will also see Humphrey and Martha "overcome unexpected hurdles as foster parents", while Martha's old flame Archie Hughes will return.

Beyond Paradise and Death in Paradise both air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
