A first look at Heartstopper's Kit Connor in the new Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet has been released.

The new version of William Shakespeare's classic play marks the actor's debut on the New York stage, playing the Montague scion opposite Rachel Zegler's Juliet.

Official stills of the pair as the star-crossed lovers have now been unveiled, showing off a glitzy adaptation of the tragedy by director Sam Gold.

Connor was most-recently seen in season 3 of Heartstopper on Netflix, which continues the romance between Nick Nelson and Charlie Spring.

The actor recently opened up about a viral scene in the new episodes in which his character Nick speaks to his aunt Diane (Hayley Atwell) about Charlie's eating disorder.

"Hayley did really beautifully in that scene. Really. That was a hard scene to film because we had an hour to shoot it. And it’s not short," he told Teen Vogue.

"I was really worried about it to be honest… But I’m glad that people like it. I tried to watch it and I was like, I’m not very good in this scene."

Romeo and Juliet is playing now at the Circle in the Square Theatre in New York. Heartstopper seasons 1-3 are streaming on Netflix.
