This Country star Daisy May Cooper believes she's being haunted by the ghost of her late co-star.

Speaking to Radio Times, Daisy revealed she'd experienced a "banging at the bedroom door" and another incident in which "the duvet had lifted off the bed".

Daisy believes that her friend Michael Sleggs, who passed away in 2019, was behind the strange occurrences, as she'd made him promise that he'd come back.

She explained: "This knocking at the door wasn’t a normal kind – there was a rhythm and me and my partner just looked at each other... I'm sure it was him [Sleggs].

"If anybody was going to come back and let me know there was something after death, it would be him.

"I mean, even the way he went... I made him promise he would come back, and he would definitely do it because he knows it would freak me out and he’d find that hilarious."

Last year, Daisy revealed she'd suffered a ghost experience so terrifying that she was forced to move out of her house.

Appearing on the BBC's ghost podcast Uncanny, Daisy explained that the top-floor spare room of her country house was the setting for a number of strange experiences.

While staying over one night, her friend Sarah heard what sounded like somebody breaking into the house and was "so frightened she phoned her boyfriend".

Daisy went on to explain that everyone who has stayed in that same room has had a spooky experience – whether that was hearing voices, the smell of cigarettes, the shower being turned on or even "shadow figures".

She also revealed that the pictures on the walls in the room moved around by themselves, like: "Somebody has taken them off and placed them in different places."

Daisy also explained that she received a text from her housekeeper saying they'd seen a man dressed as a Roman in her house when she wasn't there, and heard the noise of a small child running around.

"It’s so funny, and it’s so ridiculous, and I know what people think when I say it and how stupid it sounds, but I saw what I did and the sound of that thing coming in was terrifying," she added.

"I can’t ever get the sound out of my head. It was horrible."

Taskmaster returns for series 18 on Thursday, September 12, at 9pm, airing and streaming on Channel 4. A Junior Taskmaster spinoff has been confirmed.
