Fortitude stars Nicholas Pinnock, Jessica Raine and Veronica Echegu have spoken about their love triangle on the show.
In Digital Spy's exclusive video from the set of the Sky drama, the trio discuss the show's complex relationships.
Frank Sutter (Pinnock) and Jules Sutter (Raine) come to Fortitude in a last ditch attempt to save their marriage, but it quickly becomes clear that Frank is having an affair with Elena Ledesma, played by Echegu.
Speaking about her character's marriage, Raine said: "Previously to living there she has been an army wife and you get the feeling that this is a last ditch attempt to save their marriage, as things haven't been going very well."
Pinnock added: "Frank and Elena have a very strange relationship - maybe not one a married man should be having. That is a really interesting turning point in Frank's story and it kind of has a ripple effect through the town."
Written by Low Winter Sun's Simon Donald, the Arctic crime thriller charts a murder investigation in the peaceful, close-knit community of Fortitude.
