Sophie Turner says the son of real-life jewel thief Joan Hannington appears in the upcoming ITV drama based on his mother's life.
Set in London in the 1980s, the six-part drama Joan tells the story of how the "mother, lover, liar, thief" came to notoriety and is inspired by Hannington's memoir.
Turner, who plays Joan, spoke with cast and creatives as well as the real Hannington herself at a Q+A event ahead of the show's release later this month.
The drama follows how Joan met her future husband Boisie Hannington, played by Renegade Nell's Frank Dillane and how he introduced her to a life of crime as the pair became successful diamond thieves.

The Game of Thrones star told Digital Spy and other press at the event how filming the scene where Joan and Boisie meet was "amazing" because they had a special cameo.

She said: "The scene that we meet first in the pub, the bartender was played by Joan's son, Benny, which was so cool to have that because it's the moment his parents meet.
"He got to be there, and we got to hang out with him and it was such a bizarre, wonderful moment, so it was special in many, many ways."
Turner also spoke about getting to meet the real Joan before they started filming the show and how it helped her to get into the role.

"I kind of had an idea of what I was doing with the character," she said. "I pretty much had it, because there's so much in Joan's book and it's so written in her own voice. I soaked that up. I read it about nine or 10 times, I think.
"The last piece of the puzzle was meeting Joan. The minute Joan walks into a room, she is the star of that room. She's the diamond and it was her mannerisms that I hadn't quite got, and it was just the essence of her that I was missing.
"When I finally met her, I saw this magnetic woman and I really, truly understood why Boisie, why so many people were drawn to her the way she was drawn to her jewels."
Joan airs its first episode on ITV1 on September 29, with all six episodes becoming available on ITVX after episode one airs. The drama will be aired on The CW in the US.
