Sex Education and My Lady Jane star Edward Bluemel has been cast in the upcoming Agatha Christie series The Seven Dials Mystery.
According to Variety, Bluemel is the latest star to join the cast of the Agatha Christie mystery from Broadchurch and Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall.
Bluemel will join How to Have Sex actor and BAFTA Rising Star winner Mia McKenna-Bruce, who leads the cast, as well as The Hobbit actor Martin Freeman, and The Crown's Helena Bonham Carter.

Penned by Chibnall, The Seven Dials Mystery follows McKenna-Bruce's Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent, as she unravels a murder mystery following a deadly practical joke at a country house party.
Set in the 1920's, the new series sees Bluemel take on the role of Jimmy Thesiger, who is described as "a charming and witty man who becomes Bundle’s ally in the murder investigation". Bonham Carter stars as Lady Caterham, while Freeman will play Superintendent Battle.

The Crown’s Suzanne Mackie is set to take on executive producing duties alongside Chris Sussman and The Tourist's Chris Sweeney. Sweeney also serves as director on the new series.

Mackie previously said of the project: "I am excited to be bringing The Seven Dials Mystery to life, and to be introducing a new generation of iconic Christie characters to the screen.

Meanwhile, McKenna-Bruce said: "Chris Chibnall's scripts are brilliant, and I am thrilled to be part of this new interpretation of the iconic Agatha Christie's storytelling."
Production on The Seven Dials Mystery expected to begin this summer. Doctor Who is currently airing on BBC One in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere.
