Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have reunited on This Morning for the first time in over a month.

The pair had both been absent from the show in recent weeks, with Holly being away due to a painful bout of shingles and Phillip taking a pre-arranged period of extended leave.

Addressing her illness on air, the presenter said she was glad to be back alongside on the sofa.

"But I'm all mended and back," she added before turning to the camera to say that it was lovely to see everyone again.

Holly had confirmed her return ahead of the show, posting an update on her Instagram with a photo of her outfit for the day. "Morning Monday… aww I’ve missed you!!!!!" she wrote.

"See you on the @thismorning sofa at 10am… we have the co-author of The Rules on the show today!"

The presenter had kept fans updated throughout her illness, revealing late last week that she was starting to feel better after the time off.

Her time away had coincided with co-presenter Phillip stepping aside from the show while his brother stood trial at Exeter Crown Court.

Following his return to the sofa, Phillip acknowledged his absence and thanked fans for their support throughout his time off. "I wanted to say that it is really lovely to be back. I have missed the show and everyone here," he said.

"I wanted to say thank you for all your kind messages and support, which were really appreciated. So, thank you very much indeed."

This Morning airs on weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
