ITV has welcomed Sarah Niles and Adeyinka Akinrinade to the cast of Riches.

The six-part series created and written by Abby Ajayi, the writer behind Netflix’s Inventing Anna and How to Get Away with Murder, is a high-stakes family drama.

The cast is bursting with famous faces and now Ted Lasso star Niles joins the cast as Claudia, the second wife to self-made millionaire Stephen Richards, who will be played by Hugh Quarshie (Holby City).

Niles is one of several new names to be announced along with Top Boy actress Adeyinka Akinrinade and Downton Abbey’s Brendan Coyle as Gideon, Stephen’s trusted advisor and confidante.

Deborah Ayorinde (Truth Be Told) stars as his estranged daughter Nina, and the synopsis teases that Stephen’s illness leads "his family's secrets and lies [to] rise to the surface and the future of his multi-million-pound company is at stake".

On hand to assist Stephen is his long-standing and faithful PA Maureen Dawson, who is played by Luther’s Hermione Norris.

The cast also features Ola Orebiyi (Cherry), CJ Beckford (Sitting in Limbo), Nneka Okoye (Grantchester) and Emmanuel Imani (Cobra).

The Succession-like drama is one of several new programmes ITV is set to release this autumn including the female-led Karen Pirie, cold war drama A Spy Among Friends and Without Sin.

Speaking about the new series, writer Ajayi said: "Riches is a love letter to Black London and it has been thrilling to create the Richards’ family and celebrate their opulence, their ambition and their immigrant grit.

"Our talented ensemble of actors are a joy and I’m excited to be partnering with Amazon and ITV, working alongside the powerhouses of Greenacre Films and Monumental Television to bring this show to the screen."
