Fans were left feeling emotional, but "inspired" after the season finale of Gentleman Jack tonight (Sunday 29 May 2022).

Gentleman Jack is based on a true story, taking place centuries before homosexuality was legalised, and now this chapter of Anne and Ann's romance has come to an end.

Fans of the show have been taking to Twitter when each episode has aired on Sunday evenings, and tonight, fans have been left "crying" and "shaking" over the last episode of the season.

"Mmm you cheated on her, show her up to society only when convenient to you," one fan wrote on Twitter in reference to Ann's behaviour in the final episode. The fan added, "Don't be surprised if she wanna divorce babe."

Despite the moments of tension, fans found solace in the "way they look at each other," which made viewers emotional. "This is really making me cry," one said.
