We all rely on streaming services to watch our favourite films and TV at home, whether we're hooked on Disney+ faves like Loki and Echo, or we're more into binge-watching comedies like Parks and Recreation and Young Sheldon on Netflix.
But if your TV isn't so smart or you've been watching everything on your laptop (or even your phone!), it's time to upgrade to a streaming device to get all your subscriptions in one place and on the big screen.
This is where a Roku player comes in handy. These devices plug into the back of a TV and connect to WiFi, giving you access to all of your various streaming apps from the homepage. You can sign in to Disney+, Netflix, Prime Video and Spotify, or watch on-demand services like BBC iPlayer, All 4 and NOW, all via Roku.
What to Read Next
There are various types of Roku player, including Roku Streaming Sticks, the slightly larger Roku Express, and a soundbar-meets-streaming-device called the Roku Streambar.
Alternatively, you can buy a Roku TV – which is essentially a smart TV with on-board Roku – so that you'll have even less tech delivering all the streaming content you need.
Roku's service has been gradually improved over the years, and we were particularly pleased to note the addition of 'What to watch', 'Continue watching' and 'Save list' features in November 2023, mirroring some of our most-used features from other streaming services such as Netflix.
You can buy Roku streaming devices from retailers including Currys, Very, Argos and sometimes Amazon – although the retailer behind Roku's competitor, Fire TV, only has certain Roku products listed at present.
This article will take you through the latest discounts on Roku devices and the best places to buy them at full price. Our most recent Roku price check was completed on March 5, 2024.

Roku Express Deals
The Roku Express is an entry-level option, offering HD-quality streaming on your TV. It comes with a cable and remote control, so you'll have everything you need to get started right out of the box for £29.99 (or less during sale periods).
The Express streams media at resolutions up to 1080p only, so don't go buying one for your 4k TV.
Roku Express 4K Deals
You can watch 4K content on Roku by going for any of the devices that aren't the Express.
The next level up is the Roku Express 4K, which streams in 4K if you've got a capable telly and will show HD content on non-4K TVs too. You can grab the Express 4K for its RRP of £39.99 at present, although we have seen this device go as low as £29.99 in previous sales.
Roku Streaming Stick Deals
Roku's most recognisable streaming devices are undoubtedly its streaming sticks. They look very much like a USB stick, but they're kitted out with tech that will enable to watch all of your favourite streaming services via the same TV.
While there've been a few Roku stick models over the years, the only one you can buy new these days is the Roku Stick 4K HDR, which is RRP'd at £49.99.
Roku Streambar Deals
If you're planning to stream this year's blockbusters from your living room, this is a worthwhile investment.
With the Streambar, Roku has made it easy to upgrade your home cinema setup and improve your audio and video at the same time, with what's essentially three products in one.
It works as a soundbar, it's a streaming player capable of 4K HDR, and it's a Bluetooth speaker for playing your favourite songs on Spotify, Apple Music or Amazon Music.
Once plugged in, it handles all your TV's audio whether you're gaming, watching telly or streaming through the Roku itself. While it's compact, it still delivers a booming sound that's way better than your typical TV speakers.
Normally, it costs £129.99, but you can get it for £99.95 via a live Amazon discount. That's a very worthwhile 23% off the RRP.
Roku Ultra LT deals
Back in its heyday, the Roku Ultra LT was touted as Roku's most powerful streaming device. While the Ultra LT is now a little on the older side (as far as streaming gadgets go), it remains a capable and feature-rich device.
This is a best-of-both-worlds Roku option, including both a streaming box and a remote. Powered by a quad-core processor, the Ultra LT supports 4k streaming and HDR colour. And as a nice bonus, some wired earbud headphones come bundled in.
Amazon currently has the Ultra LT's list price at £118 – but thanks to an active discount, you can pick up the device for £91 this March.
Roku TVs
There are several smart TVs out there which come with Roku's streaming service built in, including models from Sharp, RCA, JVC and TCL.
Very is currently offering discounts on a selection of Sharp Roku TVs, including:
- Sharp 43FD2K, 43", Full HD, Frameless Roku TV: £199 (usually £249)
- Sharp 55FJ2K, 55", 4K UHD, Roku Smart TV: £329 (usually £399)
- Sharp 24FD2K, 24", HD Smart Roku TV: £149 (usually £159)
Meanwhile, Amazon has a 17% lightning deal discount on the RCA Roku TV 50-inch 4K Smart TV, which has brought the telly's price down to £249 (usually £299), although this offer will end very soon.
The Roku Channel
Roku devices offer access to its free-to-watch TV service too, with the Roku Channel claiming to have 10,000 films and TV shows.
Yes, most of what's on the ad-supported platform won't be worth your time, but there's a mix of decent stuff there too, like Alfred Hitchcock Presents, classic Batman, and Super Size Me.
