This Morning has taken big steps in social distancing since regulations and recommendations were brought in by the government as part of the UK's lockdown.

But viewers voiced their concern after Sarah Parish held a Skype interview with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield from her neighbour's house on Tuesday's (May 5) show.

As the former Cutting It star spoke to the hosts, Schofe pointed out the bed behind her, joking that she'd made her bed before their chat.

"This isn't actually my house," she said. "I'm actually in my neighbour's house. The internet wasn't working so I've just had to pop next door to Skype."

This Morning fans were unimpressed with Sarah's remarks, saying it was against the lockdown rules.

Sarah later clarified on Twitter that she wasn't actually in her neighbours' bedroom, writing: "I seem to have caused a twitter uproar!

"I was in my Neighbours Annex doing the This Morning interview, not their house. They don't live in it!!

"It's all lockdown safe. It's great that you're all taking lockdown seriously though."

She went on to say of her neighbours' annex: "They don't live in it and have kindly lent it to us while our internet is down."

Digital Spy has contacted Sarah Parish's rep for any further comment.

Social distancing has been a big talking point in TV right now, especially when it comes to the Channel 4 show Gogglebox.

The programme has received numerous complaints about the stars not following the correct measures.

Sisters Izzi and Ellie Warner received numerous complaints as they continued to film in the same room together.

Channel 4 addressed the issue on air before the latest show was broadcast.

"Just in case you're worried, they are all keeping to the guidelines of social distancing," the continuity announcer said.

The show previously announced that, in order to keep filming during the outbreak, it had rigged cameras in the individual homes of the cast, which prevents them from having any contact with the crew members.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
