Sky One's new six-part comedy Brassic premiered on Thursday night (August 22), and impressed viewers have already deemed it the 'new Shameless'.
There's a good reason for that, too: it's co-created by Shameless writer Daniel Brocklehurst.

Starring Preacher's Joe Gilgun and ex-Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan, the show is actually based on the former's own life.
Set in the Northern town of Hawley, it follows Gilgun's character Vinnie and his five working-class friends who commit a variety of minor but ridiculous crimes to keep money in their pockets.
In tonight's opener, the group ended up being pursued by a police car in the countryside, stealing a Shetland pony, and having a troublesome experience with a jar of chloroform, before eventually finding themselves on the wrong side of a crime boss.
With its considerably sweary dialogue and portrayal of sociopolitical issues, viewers were quick to draw comparisons with Shameless, while simultaneously offering high praise to the new series.
One person tweeted: "Brassic is actually class. One of the best shows I've seen in a while. They don't make enough stuff like it anymore since Shameless etc."
While another wrote: "First episode of Brassic, magic. Looking like a great show. Will be called the new Shameless, or even the new Burn It."
All six episodes of Brassic are now available on Sky Boxsets and NOW TV.
