Line of Duty has been a wild ride this season, constantly sending twists and turns our way as we follow anti-corruption unit AC-12.

Last week, evidence mounted against the head honcho of the team, Supt. Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar). We saw Ted shut his laptop, just after John Corbett (Stephen Graham) and Lisa McQueen (Rochenda Sandall) had finished messaging H.

Oh, and he got rid of the laptop, too. Suspicious, right?

As expected, questions over Ted's reliability have further increased. In tonight's episode (April 21), Ted took over communication with Corbett and McQueen.

While typing out his messages, eagle-eyed viewers spotted Ted spelled "definitely" as "definately".

Which may not be a crime in itself — but does happen to be the exact way the real H misspelt it. If both of them had autocorrect on, none of this would've happened...

It leads us on to the next question. Surely, the astute Ted (if he is indeed H) wouldn't pose as himself in front of his colleagues?

The general consensus is there's definitely something fishy going on. Viewers took to Twitter to have their say...

Perhaps it's too obvious, though. It may be that H erring is – err – a red herring (geddit?)

Or, perhaps, the fact it's too obvious means it's obviously correct (confused?)

Aside from the lack of clarity about who H really is, one thing is clear. Corbett is dead.

There's no way Line of Duty can spin this one, as we saw Corbett get his throat slit near the end of the episode.

It all happened because Corbett attempted to persuade Lisa to betray the gang. Both were at the OCG's new brothel site and could hear the group of trafficked girls being raped.

Grabbing a gun while playing poker, he backed out of the room and went into the one where the girls are being held.

Shocked to see that the noises are actually being impersonated by one of the gang members, he freezes — only to have his throat gorily slit by Ryan.

It's pretty sad for fans, as it means that the incredible Stephen Graham won't be back for the last two series (unless in a freezer, like Jackie Laverty's amazing cameo tonight). Twitter was heartbroken:

Even more sad was the ending, where we saw Corbett's wife Steph (Amy de Bhrún) read a bedtime story to their daughter (in a slightly dodgy Scouse accent).

There's still a lot of questions to be answered (and asked!). Luckily for us, we've got a feature-length finale to look forward to. Breathe in slowly, and out through the nose...

Line of Duty continues Sunday (April 28) at 9pm on BBC One.
