David Attenborough's latest docu-series Our Planet has set off a stream of tears thanks to one particularly harrowing segment.

Landing on Netflix earlier this month, the jaw-dropping nature show not only offers insights into the magical behaviour from the animal kingdom, but also zeros in on the devastating impact global warming is having on various habitats.

There's one scene that has particularly caught the attention of fans though – during episode two where a colony of walruses are forced to live precariously on Russian cliffsides.

This is thanks to a lack of ice packs, which have gradually melted over the last few years as a result of rising global temperatures. These would originally be used for sleeping purposes by the walruses and also offer easy access to their food source.

However, the Our Planet crew managed to capture one harrowing moment on film that saw a walrus topple over the edge of a cliff, plunging to its death in the process.

Elsewhere, Attenborough himself has recently responded to the rumours surrounding his future with the BBC – given that his new venture is for streaming service Netflix.
