The Punisher is gearing up for its sophomore season of bloody fists and heavy weaponry – and now it's confirmed another crossover with a Daredevil character.
Indeed, Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) will be returning to the Netflix series, having briefly appeared in the first season.
What's interesting about Karen's return to The Punisher is that Daredevil, the show in which she originated, has now been cancelled by Netflix. So this could be the only way the character gets to live on.
However, judging by a statement made by showrunner Steve Lightfoot – in which he confirmed that Karen would continue to play a role in the story of Frank Castle – it seems that Woll won't be a regular cast member on the show, and mostly features because her scenes were shot at the same time as Daredevil.
Lightfoot told ScreenRant: "We were shooting while Daredevil was shooting (its final season). Deborah has a huge part in that season... Deborah was very busy, and I didn't know when I could get her into the show this time around. In the world of the show, that relationship continues to be very important."
Karen has previously played a key role in The Punisher's arc, from his first appearance in Daredevil season 2 to the first season of his own series, so it makes sense for her to stick around in these upcoming episodes.
