If you've been thinking about trading in your old phone to upgrade for something new, now could be the time to do so, as Samsung's flagship smartphone range for 2022 is available to buy for less during the festive period.

As is tradition, the South Korean tech giant released three new S22 handsets earlier this year: the more affordable S22 (with a starting RRP of £769), the slightly larger S22+ (RRP from £949), and the premium, top-spec S22 Ultra (RRP from £1,149), with each device providing a fairly big upgrade on last year’s models.

Like most smartphone upgrades in recent years, these models come with longer-lasting batteries, better lenses and smoother displays. The latest S22 phones have been available since February 24 and we've spent a lot of time since scouring the internet to find all the best deals.

All the top networks are offering contracts on all three phones, so whether you're already hooked up with EE, Three, Vodafone, O2, GiffGaff, or Sky Mobile, or you're planning on buying a new handset directly from Samsung, you're sure to find a great bargain to help keep monthly costs low.

You might also be able to trade in your old Samsung smartphone to get a discount on your new device, though the amount of money you get back is dependent on how well you managed to look after your handset.

As always, we recommend you shop around a bit to find the right deal for you, as it's easy to get locked into a two-year (or longer) contract overpaying for data or minutes you simply don’t need or use.

Most networks allow you to customise your plan to get the right price for you, so do your research. However, almost all online stores will have roughly the same prices across the board, particularly if you're buying the phone outright.

But what are the latest Samsung Galaxy smartphones like? Check out our rundown of the top specs for each model below.

All three phones get the silky-smooth 120Hz refresh rate on the displays, helping you glide through your social media pages and making your games look more realistic than ever.

The S22 has the smallest display, but still offers fast charging, a great triple-lens camera setup, and an impressive new processor to keep things running smoothly – at the lowest price of the three, starting from £769.

The S22+ is slightly larger (by about half an inch) and has many of the same features but a higher starting £949 RRP. Go for this if you prefer the bigger display for gaming or streaming the latest shows on the go. Its bigger battery goes a long way too.

Finally, the Ultra is for those who must have the biggest and best model, costing at least £1,149 in total. Not only is the display stretched a further .2" from corner to corner, but it should also be brighter and give more detail, especially with the wider colour gamut.

While the entire S22 family gets a significant camera upgrade to previous models (with the ability to auto-track up to 10 faces to make your videos feel more cinematic and to guarantee you get everyone in the shot), the S22 Ultra is a photographer's dream thanks to a four-lens setup that includes two telephoto lenses, a wide, and an ultra-wide.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) will help clean up your shots and draw out as much detail as possible, which should mean we'll be able to take Instagram-worthy pictures more often.

As you'd expect, Samsung itself is one of the best places to buy the three new Galaxy smartphones as the official brand tends to have the most stock available. Samsung is currently running an offer whereby you can claim up to £200 cashback if you trade in your old Samsung device against the price of the S22 or S22+, though this will depend on the handset.

The £210 value advertised by Samsung is based on the value of the Galaxy Note20 256GB. This offer ends on December 20 2022.

Samsung Galaxy S22 - prices start from £769

Samsung Galaxy S22+ - prices start from £949

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G - prices start from £1,149

If you don’t want to go straight from Samsung, you’ll find similar prices with the likes of Argos and John Lewis.

The Ultra is Samsung's latest flagship, premium phone, which means it gets its own page on the official website.

Here you can select how much internal storage you want on your new device, as well as choose between the many colours available.

Below are the best current EE deals on all three handsets in the S22 family.

Sky Mobile: Samsung Galaxy S22

Sky's mobile contracts work a little differently in that they will give you a base rate for just the phone, and then you can add your desired data, call, and text allowance to make sure you get the right price for you. As such, it's a little hard for us to give you a deal recommendation, as it's entirely dependent on how much data you want.

Sky Mobile features the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G as one of the headline deals in its Christmas sale, where it knocks £12 off a 60GB data plan (down to £18 a month from £30), bringing the monthly total to £52 for the 128GB handset on a 24-month contract with no upfront payment.

Here are the best S22 deals from Sky Mobile.

A good place to hunt for phone deals is on Mobiles.co.uk, which is sort of like a central hub of offers to sign onto different networks for a reduced price.

If you went direct with the network, you'd probably find the deal is more expensive, so you can often save yourself a few quid a month on a two-year contract with the likes of Vodafone, O2, or EE.

Samsung Galaxy S22 - 250GB and unlimited texts and calls for £80 up front and £36 a month

Samsung Galaxy S22+ - 150GB and unlimited texts and calls for £130 up front and £39 a month

Still running with O2? Again, you can chop and change your contract to get the right price for you.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra also appears in O2’s Christmas sale, with an offer on the 150GB data plan that would see you pay £48.09 a month with £30 upfront. As you’ll see below, that means you’re getting the most powerful Galaxy S22 phone for the least amount of money per month, and with more data to boot.

Any of O2’s S22 Ultra 22 contracts taken up before December 20 2022 entitle you to £300 cashback over the course of a 36-month plan.

The cheapest you can get the Samsung Galaxy S22 for with Vodafone is from £38 a month with £29 upfront for 36 months on a 2GB data plan, but this will naturally go up if that’s not going to be enough data to get you through the month.

The Samsung Galaxy S22+ is out of stock with Vodafone at the time of writing.
