Best 4K Ultra HD TVs for the PlayStation 5 – Upgrade your gaming hub now
Your PS5 deserves a bit of love with a new UltraHD TV.

If you're a lucky gamer who managed to get hold of a PlayStation 5 in the last few months, you'll be looking to make some significant upgrades to the rest of your gaming set-up to complete your next-gen experience.
You could get a new controller, webcam, or headset to improve the gameplay, but one of the best investments you can make is getting yourself a 4K TV.
The PS5 is incredibly powerful, with gorgeous graphics, lightning-fast load-times and enhanced frame-rates to make your games look even better, so you'll need a telly that can show off all that quality.

But picking the right one is difficult, so we have scoured the internet to find you some top deals on the best models, from Sony, Samsung and LG.
There's a lot to pay attention to when buying a new TV, and figuring out what screen size and resolution you need can be rather confusing, as can deciphering all the terminology when it comes to colour range, refresh rate and image quality.
However, we think there are only four things you really need to pay attention to if you're buying a TV to play your PS5 on.
4K Resolution
First off, you'll want to go for a 4K model. This refers to how many pixels the display has. The more pixels there are, the sharper the image will be, and the better your games will look. Older TVs used to have Full HD displays (1920 x 1080 pixels), but to get the most out of your new console, the TV will need to have four times as much (3840 x 2160 pixel).
TVs with the tag "4K" or “Ultra HD” will be able to display this resolution and you'll get the most out of your games.
Variable refresh rate for PlayStation 5
Something new for this next generation console is the upgrade to the frame rate. Previously, the PlayStation 4 was locked to 30 frames per second (FPS), but now we have up to 120 FPS, which gives your games that silky motion for enhanced realism.
However, the PS5 needs to communicate that frame rate with its own refresh rate, which is how often the TV refreshes the images.
Most TVs have 60Hz, which used to be the old standard, meaning it can cope with up to 60FPS. But now it'll need a TV that uses variable refresh rate to adjust the frame rate between 60 and 120Hz to see the full benefits on some games.
Some brands have different marketing names for these refresh rates, like "Tru-Motion" or "Motion Flow" which makes it hard to find out the refresh rate, but we've dug deep into the specs to learn the true number.
Input lag
The competitive gamers among you will need to concern yourselves with input lag, which is the time it takes for your console to register a button press and show it on-screen. It actually takes time for an action to happen, even if it is milliseconds, so you'll want to cut this time down as low as possible to get an edge in fast-paced online games like Call of Duty.
TVs might have dedicated "gaming modes" that reduce screen resolution and improve the input lag, but you'll want to aim to get a TV that has anywhere between 8-35 milliseconds for the best experience. Anything over 60ms is noticeably slow and might impact your games.
HDR
A TV with High Dynamic Range (HDR) capabilities is a must if you want your games to look as bright and colourful as possible. TV brands might call it something like Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR10 or HDR10+, but it basically denotes how accurate the colour reproduction is. If it has one of those tags, you're good to go.
