It's the Netflix feature that looked like it was never going to happen, but the streaming service has suggested offline viewing could be introduced after all - who's excited?
Having repeatedly ruled out adding the coveted offline option, despite key rival Amazon Prime having recently added its own downloadable content, Netflix has never shown signs of softening its stance on the matter.
Until now, that is.
Quizzed once again about the company's view on introducing offline viewing, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, speaking during the firm's earning's call last night, said it's something he will remain open-minded about.

"We should keep an open mind on all this," he is reported by Tech Insider as stating.

He added: "As we expand around the world where we see an uneven set of networks, it's something we should keep an open mind about."
While this is still far from confirmation that Netflix will add offline viewing, it's also not the resoundingly blunt 'never gonna happen' the company has been throwing around for years.
Although the lack of offline availability is fine when you're surrounded by a strong Wi-Fi connection, the ability to download movies and TV shows for on-the-move viewing would make Netflix a much better value proposition - especially as its prices are set to rise.
