Apple has apparently been interested in the automobile industry for some time, so who better to approach than BMW?
According to Reuters, the iPhone maker visited BMW's headquarters last year to talk electric cars.
CEO Tim Cook was reportedly among them, alongside senior Apple executives who toured BMW's Leipzig factory.
Apple's visit was apparently to see how BMW manufactures its electric zero emissions i3 car.
The report also claims that BMW was being "cautious" about giving away too much, so that it doesn't end up as a "mere supplier". However, the source also suggests that there are currently no talks of a partnership between the two companies.
Apple recently hired yet another automotive specialist from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
