Microsoft's augmented reality experience HoloLens was first shown off in January, and now CEO Satya Nadella has given away some information on when we may see it launched.
Speaking in an interview with the BBC's Click programme, Nadella said that a developer launch is on the cards "within the next year".
The device is apparently on a "five-year journey", and V1 will be aimed "more around developers and enterprises" as a prototype edition.
HoloLens is a head-mounted computer that uses holographic technology to present the user with augmented reality imagery, which can be interacted with through gaze, voice, and hand gestures.
Gaming is expected to be one area of application, with a Minecraft clone shown running on the device at its unveiling.
