The Sims 4 has shared the first look at the Businesses & Hobbies expansion pack.
The official trailer for the new pack, out on March 6, shows a tattoo artist starting her own business and inking a number of customers. At the same time, her partner pursues pottery as a hobby.
The couple eventually combine their crafts at a lot that serves as both a tattoo place and a pottery studio. Years later, they pass on their business to their daughter.
The expansion comes with two new skills that can be levelled up: Tattooing and Pottery.
There is also an improved system for tattoo art that lets players create custom tattoos. With Tattoo Paint Mode, multiple tattoos can be placed on the same body part – giving more freedom while coming up with designs.
More stamps and stencils can be unlocked through the Tattooing skill, and custom designs can be shared via the gallery.
What to Read Next
A new pottery wheel and kiln come with the Pottery skill. The pottery wheel can be used to create pieces including vases, tea sets, and incense burners, while the kiln lets Sims glaze ceramics.
In addition, Sims can make money by selling pottery.
Nordhaven is the expansion's new world, while other new features include hobby meet-ups, where Sims can socialise and form friendships over a shared hobby, and mentoring.
The trailer offers a glimpse at what mentoring looks like in the expansion, as Sims will be able to hold classes and lectures.
There are also various features aimed at helping Sims grow their small business. A small business can be built on a residential lot, and different rooms can have different settings (residential, public, or employees only) to allow Sims to live and work from the same building.
Finally, the expansion has cross-pack compatibility, with Sims able to run pet cafés with Cats & Dogs, acting schools with Get Famous, and launderettes with the Laundry Day stuff pack.
Fans can expect a gameplay deep dive for the expansion on February 18, ahead of its March 6 release date.
