From Ebonix to Plumbella, The Sims 4 has been collaborating with content creators for some of its more recent kit releases.
Lilsimsie is the latest YouTuber to work with the team. She is one of the biggest and most well-known content creators for the game – with 2.1 million subscribers on YouTube and nearly 900k followers on Twitch – so there was always going to be a lot of eyes on the Comfy Gamer Kit.
It's fitting then that this kit has ended up being a real treat. In fact, we would go as far as saying it's one of our favourite kits yet.

The Comfy Gamer Kit fills a niche that we're surprised hasn't been given more attention in the past. This is a kit that primarily consists of Build/Buy items targeted at gamer Sims, with ways to customise their PC gaming space. It's a no-brainer theme in a game that encourages player expression. Millions of Simmers play games on their computer and can draw on that experience.
Notable items include a dual-monitor setup (microphone included, which is perfect for the streamer part-time job if you have the High School Years expansion), gaming chair, controller, desk, and a desktop PC.

Books, a peg board, shelves, a pencil cup, a lamp, a mini-cowplant, and picture frames are some of the things that can be used to curate and decorate the space. There's also a camera and an alarm clock that are both functional.
Perhaps the items that stand out the most are the game cases and posters, which have a delightful meta touch to them that may please long-time fans of The Sims in particular. Each of the 12 swatches for the cases and posters represents a different game in the franchise, from the very first The Sims game to spin-offs such as The Sims Medieval.

"I think every Simmer has tried at least once to recreate their real house in the game, and many of us have quite a collection of physical The Sims games," Lilsimsie said in an interview.
"We don't really have a ton of physical media anymore, but seeing those old CDs brings back so much nostalgia."
That's a big reason why this kit is successful – it's a kit that feels surprisingly personal. Many of the items, while versatile, have a detail or two that gives them personality, preventing them from feeling generic, and there are touches across the range that tie everything together in a comforting way.
Out of all of the kits we've had for the game, the Comfy Gamer Kit is perhaps the one that has elicited the strongest response from us.
