Tesla has unveiled a new version of its now iconic Model S electric car.
Called the Model S P85D, it uses two motors to generate 691 horsepower and deliver performance in line with a Ferrari or McLaren.
The new model also uses an upgraded set of sensors that brings it even closer to a pure driverless car. A new lane departure system will alert drivers when they start to veer out of their lane.
A set of 16 sensors enable the car to carry out autonomous manoeuvres, like changing lanes when you indicate. Amazingly, the vehicle can also read speed limit signs and if enabled, will stop you breaking the law.
The new range-topping vehicle will also take advantage of the four wheel drive system developed for Tesla's new Model X.
Perhaps most exciting was Elon Musk's announcement that by this time next year, he aims to deliver a car that will be able to carry out 90% of all driving completely automatically.
