Neighbours boss Jason Herbison has revealed that the show's baby kidnap plot could bring about new passion for former lovers Paige Smith and Jack Callahan.
Paige and Jack's baby son Gabe got snatched in the season finale just before Neighbours went off air over the holidays, with the shock story picking up where it left off when the show returns next week.
Upcoming scenes will reveal that Nurse Louise is responsible for Gabe's kidnapping, leaving it down to Paige's current boyfriend Mark Brennan to bring the youngster back to safety.
Fans will have to wait and see if Paige and Jack are reunited with their son, but the ordeal will have huge repercussions for the pair as it reawakens old feelings.

"The crisis Gabe goes through brings Paige and Jack back together," Jason told TV WEEK. "It bonds them, which affects their respective relationships.

Whatever happens, we know that Paige's days in Ramsay Street are numbered anyway, given that Olympia Valance has finished filming with the soap.
Neighbours returns on Monday, January 8 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
