Byron and Holly are furious that Vera has invited Max to live at the share house without consultation, but Max is unperturbed.
When they learn that Max has landed a job at Lassiters, Holly and Byron are further outraged and despite Max attempting to smooth things over, the two refuse to be reasonable.
Meanwhile, when Vic lays into Nicolette about meddling in his love life, she's thrown to discover that her parents have split up over Melanie. Attempting to console her mum, Nicolette is surprised at Jane's calm acceptance and apologises to Vic, offering to speak to Melanie and tell her the truth.
