Indignant with the police's inadequacy, Remi takes matters into his own hands to locate Bree. Hiring a private investigator, Remi's desperation reads as a jilted, jealous ex-lover. Letting him down easily, the investigator suggests Bree has willingly gone back to her husband. Morose, Remi wonders if this is the best he could hope for – it would mean that Bree is at least alive.
Bree and Jacob are seemingly the picture of marital contentedness at a remote camp site. Jacob's fury has dissipated now that he has Bree to himself. But away from Jacob's watchful eye, Bree crumbles in fear – still wondering how she can escape Jacob.
