When Justin receives a flurry of calls from disgruntled customers, his frustration peaks. Ziggy didn't show up for work, assuming her slashed hours were effective immediately. First in line to complain, John is less than impressed by the disruption to his planned car service.
A staunch Dean accuses Justin of mismanaging his time between the band and the garage, using Ziggy as his scapegoat. Feeling attacked from all sides, Justin takes out his anger on a surprised John.
Meanwhile, after deciding to quit his job and stay in Summer Bay, Jacob is hopeful about repairing his marriage. Overhearing that Jacob has decided to stay in the Bay, Remi shares a distressed look with Bree.
A panicked Remi leaves a note for Cash to contact him, wanting advice on how to handle Bree's domestic violence situation. Running around town trying to locate her, Remi draws attention with his seemingly obsessive behaviour.
As Jacob is full steam ahead on moving to the Bay, Bree desperately tries to stall. Landing on a solution, Bree shows Jacob that there are no jobs in his field in the area. Jacob's brightness darkens, accusing Bree of wanting him gone.
Back pedalling, Bree outlines a plan. She suggests Jacob could stay at his interstate job for three more months, giving him time to find the perfect job in Summer Bay. Won over, Jacob agrees. Bree's relief is palpable: she has bought herself three more months to plan her escape.
With Jacob gone, Bree unravels in despair. Showing up on Remi's doorstep, Bree begs Remi for help. A relieved Remi takes Bree in his arms, determined to save her from Jacob's violence.
Elsewhere, in the midst of a competitive game of pool, Rose notices a woman checking out Xander. To make the game interesting, Rose proposes a wager: if she wins, Xander asks out his admirer. If Xander wins, Rose will ask out a guy on her dating app. The game is on. Rose's victory is a victory for all – Xander secures a date with a charmed Stacey.
