Justin breaks the news that he has lost Lyrik's regular gigs at Salt. Eden's wrath comes down hard on Justin, but Theo is quick to Justin's defence – he made one mistake, but he's devoted to Lyrik.
Determination pays off for Justin when he secures a regular gig for Lyrik at another venue with higher pay. It's been a rocky road, but Justin is finally finding his managerial feet. Unable to resist, Justin brags to Mackenzie. A proud Mackenzie smiles through gritted teeth but is devastated – Salt's business is going to suffer.
Felicity is shocked to learn that Mackenzie has axed Lyrik's gigs after Justin's hard-line negotiating. Lyrik is Salt's biggest business drawcard – their fans spend big and the base is growing every week. A curt Mackenzie declares her decision is final. Felicity is furious that Mackenzie would make such a drastic business decision without consulting her first.
