Meanwhile, a shrewd Mackenzie notices the chemistry between Theo and Kirby, pointing it out to Remi. Over confident, Remi assures Mackenzie that it would be a breach of band rules – Kirby wouldn't lie to her bandmates.
Mackenzie and Remi wage a bet on whether there's something going on between Theo and Kirby – both sure that it will be easy money. But when Remi notices the awkwardness between Theo and Kirby, he fears that Mackenzie may be onto something.
Testing the waters, Remi encourages Theo to flirt with an admiring woman at the bar. Realising that this could give them cover, Kirby eggs Theo on. Clearly uncomfortable, Theo caves under pressure, approaching the woman. But Kirby pushes Theo too far, telling him to kiss the woman. Theo puts on a good show of interest, putting Remi's concerns to rest – and winning him the bet with Mackenzie.
A kind Theo gently lets the woman down, saying someone else has his heart. When Kirby congratulates Theo on his performance, Theo is aghast. Defensive, Kirby counters that it's all in the interest of keeping their relationship secret. A weary Theo is beginning to see how difficult maintaining a secret relationship in the band will be. Devastated, Theo confronts Kirby – is this all just a game to her?
