Preparing for her second tutoring student, Roo is in high spirits. Her new student is Heather – a young woman struggling to put together a law school application. Roo is more than happy to help the driven Heather, but wants to make sure that she's motivated as studying law is very demanding.
A vulnerable Heather admits that her motivation is personal – as a lawyer, she wants to help mothers separated from their children. Telling her heartbreaking story to Roo, Heather confesses that she had an affair with a married man when she was his housekeeper. When they had a child, the man and his wife adopted the child and sent Heather away.
A compassionate Roo promises to help Heather become a lawyer so she can help others avoid the same tragedy.

However, Heather has an unnatural curiosity about Marilyn. On her way out, Heather takes a surreptitious photo of Marilyn working. Why is this young woman seemingly stalking Marilyn?
Meanwhile, back from the hospital, Eden is worried about Cash's mental state. Cash has always been the helping kind, but now that he needs help, he won't accept it. Later, Eden and John thaw out their neighbourly hostilities over a friendly game of pool.
Elsewhere, Ziggy and Dean's attempt at reconciliation ends in stubborn argument. Ziggy feels guilty for even talking to Remi, despite Dean insisting he has no issue. A patient Dean explores Ziggy's guilt – perhaps it's because she has feelings for Remi? Ziggy refuses to consider this explanation.
Looking for answers elsewhere, Dean asks Eden if Remi would ever make a move on Ziggy. An irritated Eden counters that Remi is a harmless flirt but would never make a move on a woman who's in a relationship.
Rattled by Dean's suggestion that she likes Remi, Ziggy turns to Mackenzie for help. An astute Mackenzie points out that Ziggy and Dean are comfortable. Perhaps Remi makes Ziggy feel special? It's not Remi that Ziggy is attracted to, it's the way Remi makes her feel.
Resolved, Ziggy tells Dean that she needs to feel special – sometimes a girl needs more than pizza, footy and beer. An inspired Dean has a romantic surprise for Ziggy – a spontaneous surf road trip. Ziggy is elated, impressed by Dean's commitment to their relationship.
