A grouchy John pulls the plug on Remi's busking outside the surf club. It's no permit, no performance as far as John is concerned. The band's money problems worsen since Remi lost all their savings to the van scammer. Only Eden has a second job.
Theo offers to contribute his garage wages to the band bank account. The band's financial planning is interrupted by a sudden car horn outside – it's Justin with Lyrik's new van.
The van is perfect, and the band are in complete awe. They invite a giddy Justin in for celebratory beers. Word spreads and soon the neighbours are joining in the backyard celebrations. An irritated John pokes his head over the fence to complain about the noise, refusing to join the party. Swept up in the euphoria, Kirby and Theo are drawn into a secret kiss, almost busted by Eden looking for more drinks.

Unable to resist each other, Theo and Kirby sneak away to his place for some privacy. Sprung in the morning by Justin and Leah, Kirby quickly hides in the bathroom. Theo creates a decoy so Kirby can escape out the back door. But it's a close call.

Since being embroiled in the bikie bust media story, Tane is facing suspicion by the surf club. In a show of loyalty, John warns Tane that the committee is considering non-renewal of the gym's lease. Forced to keep silent on being a police informant, Tane is unable to defend himself against accusations. And without a court date set, there is no end in sight. How can Tane save his gym when he can't clear his name?
Elsewhere, seeing all the love around him, Nikau is lovesick for Bella. Determined to make things right, Nikau decides to go see Bella in New York.
