Mac explains how she can go along with PK's repayment scam and put on another poker night. But instead of giving PK the winnings as promised, she'll keep them to pay off Salt's debts.
Mac makes the pitch to PK – another VIP poker night and she will give him the buy-in takings. That will cover the $50,000 she owes him. In a flagrant show of domination, PK demands that he will be running the event and taking every cent made. His arrogance is too much for Mac to withstand, so she orders PK to get out.
At the same time, Rose updates Felicity but admits that she has nothing on PK. However, she has also researched PK's associate Nathan, who has a history of bankruptcy. An investor once took him to court and Nathan was facing jail time. Someone bailed Nathan out of his debts at the last moment, saving him from conviction. Rose suspects this could have something to do with PK.
Nathan later returns and makes a plea to Mac to do whatever PK wants. Nathan seems genuinely fearful when he tells Mac not to cross PK. With some back up from Dean, Mackenzie tells Nathan to take his story elsewhere.
Later, Mac is closing Salt for the night, with Dean standing by when a couple of rough men come marching in. They brandish a knife and demand Mackenzie empty the till. A tense Dean tells Mackenzie to do as they say.
Mackenzie and Dean kneel on the ground as instructed while the thugs smash bottles and trash the restaurant. Tane and Felicity come upstairs for a night cap after closing the gym, walking into the violence. Thinking quick, Dean tackles one of the thugs, as Tane attacks the other.
Felicity and Mackenzie dive for cover under a table as the men brawl. Eventually the two thugs are sent running, but Tane is collapsed on the floor. A frantic Felicity rushes to Tane's aid but sees blood on his hands and stomach – Tane has been stabbed.
Elsewhere, John gives Nikau a proposal – they will put together an application to the council for Nikau to become a paid lifeguard. Nikau is elated, pulling John into a grateful embrace as Bella looks on proudly.
