What to Read Next
Dean has previously pledged support to Mackenzie, but is now uneasy about taking her to the clinic for the termination, because she's keeping it from Ari. Overwhelmed, he tells Mackenzie that he can't go with her unless she makes Ari involved.
When Ziggy finds out that Dean is leaving Mackenzie to deal with this alone, she is furious and tears strips off him. However, she realises that his uncertainty is because of his own situation with Jai.
Dean goes to Mackenzie and explains that he's not judging her decision, but it's difficult for him to put his own feelings aside, given that being a dad has brought such immense joy to his life. Having said that, Dean will stand by his pledge to accompany Mackenzie to her appointment.
Mackenzie is appreciative of the explanation, but declines Dean's offer, preferring to go to the appointment alone. That night, Mackenzie is alone at the farm when she's gripped with severe pelvic pain. She collapses to the floor, doubled over in agony – and there's no-one home to help.
Meanwhile, talking to Tane, Ziggy tells him that she wouldn't know what to do if she found herself in the same situation as Mackenzie. Later, after her fight with Dean, Ziggy rants at Tane about the way men will run a mile at any mention of babies, and yet at the same time think they can dictate a woman's choice about what they do with a pregnancy.
Tane is taken aback by Ziggy's comments and the two have a mini fight. After they both have some time to cool off, Tane explains that while it's too early for him and Ziggy to be thinking about kids, he wants her to know that family is important to him and he has always seen himself as having a couple of children in the future. Ziggy apologises for misjudging him, and now they're back in a good place, they go out clubbing.
Elsewhere, in the aftermath of Christian punching him, Lewis is taken aback when Jasmine suggests that maybe he should give some more thought into submitting an incident report. She's fearful of the ramifications, but for Lewis, there's nothing to even consider. He feels Christian deserves everything that's coming to him, and finally this is some small justice, on behalf of all his patients who have died.
Since Tori has already told him to put in the report, Lewis insists that Jasmine pick a side. Jasmine confides in Irene and Willow, bemoaning the impossible choice. Knowing exactly what it's like to be in that position, Willow counsels Jasmine to follow her heart and do what's right.
Jasmine goes to Lewis and apologises for being more concerned about the fall-out, rather than doing the right thing. Lewis is relieved when Jasmine tells him that she'll back his decision all the way.
