Ryder finds Mac distraught in the storeroom, still dealing with the fallout of her breakup with Ari. Ryder promises to look after Salt, so she takes her wounded heart home, where Ziggy finds Mac curled up on the couch and at the bottom of a container of ice cream.
Mac gives in to the urge and sends a message to Ari to talk. He comes to speak to her, and the pair mend their wounds. Ari and Tane make amends, but just when Mac thinks things are on the mend, Tane arrives at Salt to hand in his resignation.
Meanwhile, Justin's health continues to improve, and he and Leah make their way to the Diner for lunch, to the delight of everyone in the Bay. Leah and Justin invite Ziggy for dinner as a thank you for all her hard work in the garage.

At their dinner, Justin and Leah are shocked to hear of Ziggy and Dean's break-up. By the same token, Ziggy is also shocked to hear Justin won't be returning to the garage for another five weeks but does her best to cover her disappointment.
In the morning, Ziggy is pleasantly surprised to find Ari has stayed the night at the farm.
Justin makes Leah breakfast but the tingling sensation in his hand takes him by surprise.
Elsewhere, although Alf has been distant from Martha, Alf welcomes an invitation to join her in Marimbula. Marilyn and Ryder encourage Alf to go, offering to keep running the house in his absence. This warms Alf and Marilyn is pleased to see Ryder is improving through his grief.
