John's health continues to improve with Amber's help. When Amber crosses paths with Colby, her frosty reception forces her to leave John fending for himself. John tries to offer Colby advice about mending the wounds of the past, but Bella doesn't understand why John is mounting his opinion to favour Amber.
Colby explains to Bella why Amber is so hostile. It helps her to understand why Amber is so angry. The pair reminisce about their past, which weighs heavily on Bella.
Amber comes to see Colby, regrettably admitting she has grown to understand why he had to make the choice he did between saving her brother Jai or saving his own sister.

Meanwhile, when Ziggy receives her divorce certificate in the mail, she's drawn closer than ever to Dean. She suggests they leave the Bay for a while, taking the board shop on the road for a new adventure. Dean agrees with the idea.
