Bella is prepared to go all the way with Nikau, but in the heat of the moment, she freaks out and demands Nikau leave. He doesn't know what to do, but knows he needs to get out of there before Colby comes home – his family and cops don't gel well. Bella is a wreck as he leaves.
A panicked Nikau desperately searches for Ryder everywhere but can't find him. Next he searches for Ari, to no avail. He finally finds Ryder, so they return to Bella's place and beg for her to open the door, but Bella refuses.
Ryder instantly thinks Nikau did something to her and when Ryder calls Colby for help, Nikau takes off in fear of the repercussions. Colby breaks down Bella's door to discover she has been cutting her arm in an emotional state. They rush her to the hospital, where Tori believes Bella needs full-time psychiatric supervision at a facility.

Later, Colby gets his leg looked at after breaking down Bella's door, Jasmine tries to calm him by telling him that he has been a good brother to Bella. Colby blames himself for everything that has happened with Bella. Willow explains to Colby about why Bella wanted to self-harm. Willow works really hard at convincing Colby it was all Bella's idea.
Ryder and Nikau's relationship is fractured when Ryder blames Nikau for putting Bella in hospital and fleeing without trying to help her. John tries to talk some sense into Ryder, but Ryder is amiss about how to be a friend to Bella. He and John start by cleaning up Bella's room in the wake of her self-destruction.
As the day continues, Bella tries to tell everyone it wasn't Nikau's fault. Willow realises that she gave Bella the wrong advice about the teens having sex together. Bella explains that she's a broken shell of herself.
A panic-stricken Nikau wants to leave town, but his mum convinces him to face his issues and go to the hospital to see if Bella is okay. He faces up with Colby, who tells Nikau he knows it's not his fault. An emotional Nikau pleads with Colby to see Bella, but Colby refuses. Nikau still doesn't know why Bella is in hospital. Bella is a mess when Colby tells her that she needs full time care in a specialised facility.
Meanwhile, Maggie is still being ostracised by her own family. Ben's refusing to speak to Maggie, or even just be in her presence.
