Justin and Ben catch up after a surf, and Ben invites he and Leah to his birthday party. When Leah hears about it, she insists that she feels up to going.
The pair go to the garage, where Leah spots a family photo and realises she hasn't seen Mason since she got back. Justin is heartbroken to have to tell her about Mason and Robbo's deaths, worried she's too vulnerable for such horrible news. Leah is just sorry Justin had to go through it all alone.
Meanwhile, Ryder is convinced that Nikau needs to know about Bella's experience with Tommy. Roo is adamant that it's not Ryder's news to tell but nevertheless, Ryder finds himself trying to broach it.

Nikau gets frustrated with Ryder's cryptic messages and accuses Ryder of having feelings for Bella himself. Finally, he blurts it out and Nikau's grateful for the knowledge, but will it only isolate Bella more just when she's finally feeling like a normal teen?
Elsewhere, the Astonis are in full swing, pulling together a party to be proud of. Maggie relishes in having Ben back to his old, happy and loving self. It seems like finally everything's back on track for the Astonis with clear skies ahead.
That's until Maggie receives a knock at the door and is greeted by newcomer Marco. The man's connection to Maggie remains a mystery but one thing's for sure – she is not pleased to see him.
