Ryder can see Colby is fighting a losing battle in the war of getting Bella to counselling. He suggests that Bella first try opening up to him, as maybe it will make it easier when it comes to speaking with Patricia. Bella gives it a go and is shocked by how distressed Ryder is to hear of her self-harm.
This doesn't inspire Bella towards counselling any more, but having a friend care so deeply about her gives her a new sense of belonging.
Meanwhile, Marilyn and John reach a stalemate arguing over the Paratas as Ari, Gemma and Nikau weigh up their options. The family hatch a plan to try and cut a deal on a caravan. While Roo is only too happy to help, she only has one available and it won't sleep all three of them.
What to Read Next
Ari appeals to John – if Ari takes a van, will John allow Gemma and Nik to stay with he and Marilyn? John reluctantly agrees, but warns that his generosity has a time limit – the Paratas have two weeks to source new accommodation.
Elsewhere, Mackenzie's ex, Jason is threatening to expose her past misdemeanours at Salt. Dean scares him off, but it becomes clear that Jason won't be so easily perturbed. He tries again, this time when Dean's nowhere in sight. Ryder summons Dean, who returns with a uniformed Colby by his side.
The pair get rid of Jason for good, but Mac is left mortified – not only does Colby know she's dating again, but that she got suckered by an ex. Colby reveals Dean had left those details out when he brought him along. The former couple share a sad moment that as they acknowledge they couldn't make it work as a couple between them.
Later, Dean surprises Colby by asking if he can move into his spare room? They tentatively agree to become flatmates. What's the worst that can happen?
