Having broken up with Colby, Mackenzie tries to throw herself into work, but the hurt catches up with her and she breaks down while talking to Dean. He's supportive but confused over why she walked out on Colby. Mac doesn't want to unpack her feelings just yet as it's still all too raw, but then Colby walks into Salt demanding an explanation.
Colby wants to save their relationship, but sadly her mind is made up. Over the last few weeks she has realised how hard and dangerous his job really is and she just can't handle it. She was looking at a future of sitting around worrying if he'd make it home alive at night, and she's not strong enough to deal with that.
Colby tries to reassure Mac, but his appeal is interrupted by a work-related phone call. Mac smiles sadly at the irony and walks out, leaving Colby broken-hearted.
What to Read Next
Bella is furious with Mackenzie for breaking up with Colby. She wants to confront Mac, but is intercepted by Willow and Dean, who try to talk her down. They argue Bella's priority should be supporting Colby, not tearing strips off Mackenzie.
Later, Colby comes home to drown his sorrows and finds Willow, Dean and Bella waiting with dinner and some moral support. After downing a six-pack, Colby drunkenly opens up about his heartbreak, which further fuels Bella's animosity toward Mac.
That night, Dean and Willow are walking home and spot a shadowy figure moving about inside Salt, well after closing time. Worried that someone might be breaking in, they hurry to investigate. Once inside the darkened restaurant, Dean sees an intruder about to pour petrol behind the bar. Flicking on the lights, Dean is shocked to see the intruder is Bella. She has been caught red-handed trying to torch Mac's restaurant!
Meanwhile, Mason receives an email that changes everything. His internship starts tomorrow, which means Willow will have to cover all his shifts and manage the gym solo until she finds his replacement. Mason feels bad about leaving her in the lurch, but Willow insists she'll be fine. In truth, though, she's quietly panicking. Can she cope running the gym on her own?
Elsewhere, Dr Alex has recommended counselling and antidepressants for Ben, but he is worried about the side effects of the medication. Treading carefully, given his recent mood swings, Maggie suggests they look at all the information before making decisions. Ben agrees, much to Maggie and Ziggy's relief. However, after doing his research, Ben decides to go ahead with counselling but refuses to take antidepressants.
Maggie reminds him that Alex said the medication could really help, but his mood quickly sours. Still on an emotional rollercoaster, he angrily insists that he needs to do this his way. His raised voice is a sobering reminder of his volatile state, and instantly shuts Maggie down.
Desperate to get through to her dad, Ziggy turns to Dean for help. Dean opens up to Ben about his mum's struggle with mental illness, and how medication helped turn her life around. But despite the heartfelt appeal, it's unclear if Ben will take this advice on board.
