It's one unmissable moment after another in Hollyoaks this week. Just as we're still reeling from Lindsey Roscoe's death, now Sally St Claire has finally let slip that John Paul McQueen is her son.
Sally (Annie Wallace) inadvertently revealed her biggest secret in the closing moments of Wednesday's E4 first look episode, which saw John Paul find himself in a vicious fight with evil Pete Buchanan.
Pete sparked chaos at Hollyoaks High when he tried to flee from the village with Cleo McQueen by his side, just weeks before he's due to go on trial for sexually abusing her.
John Paul, Sally, Holly Cunningham and Nathan Nightingale all became involved in the desperate attempts to stop Cleo from leaving with Pete, but John Paul took things to a whole other level by punching the villain.
When Pete retaliated by trying to beat up John Paul, Sally was horrified by the heated scene and cried out: "Stop it! Get away from my son!"
Sally's revealing comment almost went unnoticed amid all the chaos... at least among everyone but John Paul, who immediately wanted an explanation as he lay dazed and confused on the ground.
What to Read Next
The next few episodes of Hollyoaks will explore the aftermath of John Paul's shocking discovery, as he has to come to terms with the deception of both Myra and Sally.
John Paul will also be shocked to learn that his new love interest Scott Drinkwell kept the secret from him too, which could potentially send John Paul straight into the arms of James Nightingale when the schemer sets his sights on him.
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
