Hollyoaks still has enough new episodes filmed to take it through to the end of July amid the current suspension of production.

As with all other shows, the Channel 4 soap shut down production back in March amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, while also cutting down its weekly episodes.

However, a show insider has told Digital Spy that Hollyoaks still has enough episodes filmed to carry it through to the end of July, at the current rate of two per week.

If need be, its current Hollyoaks Favourites series would air five nights a week on E4 to replace the new episodes.

That series, which currently airs on Wednesdays to Fridays on E4, shows some of the soap's biggest past moments and is presented by Kieron Richardson and Jorgie Porter.

Additionally, it also has the go-ahead to start airing classic earlier episodes of the soap right back to the first ever one, so it seems likely that we'll see more of those going forward.

In a previous statement, Channel 4 said of airing classic moments: "Soaps are an important part of people's lives and we have 25 years of Hollyoaks Favourites to revisit over coming weeks, celebrating the history of the show that you love.

"We will remain as present as ever on our social platforms so please keep in touch with us here, stay safe and take care of yourselves. Thank you for your ongoing support."

Hollyoaks airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm. Wednesdays through Fridays on E4 feature classic episodes called Hollyoaks Favourites.
