Coming up on Emmerdale, it's the week of the trial as Nicola goes head-to-head with Naomi and the gang members in court.

Elsewhere, the aftermath of the village's recent tragedies continues, while Kim tries to look to the future by uniting her family.

1. Manpreet meddles ahead of the trial

It's the week of the trial over Nicola's attack. Manpreet worries about the possibility of Naomi going to jail, so she tries to manipulate Nicola into speaking favourably about Charles's daughter in court.

Nicola isn't impressed by the suggestion, and Manpreet can't help fearing that she may have made matters worse for Naomi.

2. Nate confesses to Naomi

Tracy's recent visit to the village saw her rekindle an old flame, as she slept with Nate.

After a few weeks keeping quiet about this, Nate confesses all to Naomi. What will this mean for their own future?

3. Naomi receives a shock in court

ITV

As the trial begins, Naomi is shocked to realise that the gang members have concocted a false story to implicate her in the attack.

Saskia's barrister argues that the other girls were no longer friends with Naomi after an argument over money. It's falsely claimed that Naomi felt ostracised by the gang and dragged them into this case in a petty act of revenge.

4. Nicola struggles as she gives evidence

Nicola relishes the opportunity to speak about her ordeal, hoping that she can secure the justice she deserves. However, Naomi's barrister proves to be a formidable opponent, warning Nicola that her case against his client lacks any solid evidence.

Nicola starts to fear that the gang will escape punishment for what they did to her. Naomi is plagued by worries of her own, concerned that she could go down for a crime she didn't commit.

5. Naomi receives a threat

When the case continues later in the week, Saskia confronts Naomi in the toilets and makes a threat against her family. Saskia puts pressure on Naomi to change her story or face the consequences.

Saskia is next to give evidence and is wrong-footed when it's pointed out that Naomi implicated herself in a serious crime when she came forward to the police, so she has no reason to lie.

Naomi is next up and she bravely tells the court about Saskia's threats. Saskia responds with an angry outburst, but soon regrets losing control in the court. Will those responsible for Nicola's attack be brought to justice?

6. Billy and Dawn receive some good news

Kim looks to the future after a hellish few weeks, which have seen her troubled by Jamie's attack on Hazel, Harriet's death and Alex's return.

With her family pulling together, Kim is pleased that their fortunes are starting to change. Kim offers Billy and Dawn free lodgings and they're happy to accept.
