EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt has shared his latest thoughts about whether Ian Beale could return to Albert Square.
The soap icon made the decision to leave Walford to take up a leading role in the play Looking Good Dead last year before going on to compete on I'm a Celebrity – and there's been talk of his potential comeback ever since.
While speaking to Christine Lampard on Lorraine this morning (September 2), Adam was asked if he thought he would ever go back to the role, to which he replied: "It doesn't matter what happens, I'm always going to be Ian Beale. He's part of the country."

Although it's no confirmation, Adam didn't rule anything out either, admitting: "The door is open. That door is open and lots of other doors are open!"
For now, though, the actor is "happy going back on stage", having recently joined the cast of The Lincoln Center Theater's production of My Fair Lady.

Earlier this year, Adam admitted that he was having a "fantastic time" away from EastEnders, so it would have to be the right script to get him off the stage and back to the Square.
"I left because of the way the storyline was going, because Ian needed to go," he explained. "Not me going, 'I wanna leave', or them saying, 'You're going'. That was the storyline."
He continued: "They've got to come up with a storyline; they've got to ask me to go back. The timing has got to be right for me to go back, because I don't know what else I'm going to be doing."
EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
