EastEnders stars have been filming kissing scenes through plastic screens in a way to get around social distancing.
Speaking at the virtual Edinburgh TV Festival on Monday (August 24), BBC controller Piers Wenger revealed the BBC soap has come up with "ingenious ways" of navigating filming restrictions put in place following the coronavirus pandemic.
One such method includes putting a plastic screen between two actors during a kissing scene which can be digitally removed during the editing process.

"The remarkable thing about this time is just how much people want to work and how much writers are willing to think laterally to facilitate that," Wenger said. "Everyone is massively determined.
"Both on EastEnders and on Pursuit of Love, which we’re filming in the West Country at the moment, amazing, ingenious ways have been found to get around the need to put actors in close proximity to each other."
